Hi friends,
Have you drank enough water today? I am on my way to my 2nd jug of the day. I recently got a 64oz water bottle to help me stay hydrated. I am not the best at drinking enough water and I am trying.
We are halfway through the year. I am teething out changes within me and taking a realistic look at what I need to adjust for the 2nd half of the year.
This year, I set out to focus on mercy and belonging. In concrete ways, I am practicing forgiveness for myself and for others in small daily ways – such a challenging practice! We can all be very difficult. I am slightly better at putting myself out there. I am better at knowing the boundaries of what part of my creativity is beneficial for others. I am slightly better at accepting reality and my current self. Despite my best intention, I have not been able to stay organized. I have not Marie Kondo-ed my life. I have not read a book a month as I set out to do at the beginning of the year.
For the 2nd half of the year, I want to continue putting myself out there and challenge myself to show up as I am. I want to donate books, clothes and cooking utensils that I am not using – let’s be honest, I am not a baker. I want to read a book a month – I know it is doable and no, audio books don’t count.
What are some things you want to celebrate for the 1st half of 2022? What are you looking forward to in the 2nd half? I care to know.
If you are perceptive enough, you’d notice that I value creativity, health and learning. Most of what I do daily, I try to stay close to my values. This helps me to have a grounded sense of who I am and what matters to me. In turn, it provides me with a relatively stable level of fulfillment, in spite of mental health challenges and life obstacles. I am not suggesting that I have life figured out – I don’t. I am sharing what has helped me feel happy about being me. If you are curious about what your values are and you are not sure how to teeth them out, this 9-minute video does a good job of providing a simple how-to with a free printable guide.
I think that’s it for today. My water jug is staring at me. Let me know when you figure out your values.
Catch you next week.
