The neurotic artist discovered that his crush has a partner. It is disappointing to say the least.
The artist rarely finds a woman attractive. There is something about her. The concoction of mystery and openness made her interesting. When talking to her, his chest felt warmth and whimsy. Though they only had a handful of interactions, he couldn’t put her out of his mind. The more he spent time in his head, the more layers of beauty he saw in her.
The artist had a plan to express his feelings. It all went to the bin when he heard her mention the word “partner” in a sentence over the phone. He wasn’t sure if she actually said what he thought she said. Then she used the same word again, as if she knew that he needed confirmation. And the partner had a name starting with the letter “M”.
He was left speechless.
Later that day, he went for a walk and returned to his studio, painted for an hour or so and went home for a warm cup of tea. The tea pours warm feelings into his chest. He longs for that hint of whimsy.
