Merry Christmas, my friends. All is well, in relative terms. I am typing to you in the middle of the night with a cup of tea. Some things don’t change that much.
I have 10 simple observations and one prayer to offer. You are smart and kind enough to recognize where I am coming from.
- Much like my dad, I’d give my friends what I consider the best.
- Much like my dad, I like simplicity.
- Both of my parents are kind and warm people who tolerate no nonsense.
- I am extremely lucky to have a small family unit as forgiving, as loving, and as humorous as my own.
- Life in China is convenient. The public transportation is great. The bulletin train remains my favorite.
- The characters of parents and teachers will contour the kids’ in a major way. Be a good influence on the kids. I can understand how becoming a parent makes a few people more conscious about becoming a better person. Love can be a powerful drive for positive change, in both ways.
- I love afternoon naps.
- Knowing I need to change my habits doesn’t change my habits.
- I love being who I am. Even though the comparing mind will not seize to exist, it can’t take over my mind any longer.
- I have no business asking other people (especially my parents) to change for the better if I can’t change for the better myself. I need to master my own actions, thoughts and emotions first.
May you live out your inner strength and beauty. May you search for wisdom. May you never stop learning nor loving.
Merry. Merry. XOXO.
