I have a friend. When I write to him, in any format, my words would land in my body and return me to my heart. I feel the warmth of sea water, supporting me. The ease of our exchange feels generous and nourishing.
I make mistakes. And he forgives me. He makes mistakes. And I forgive him. We ask each other to care for this living water in between us. Layers of boundaries to navigate together.
I am amazed by what’s unfolding in front of me, with all of me immersed in the unfolding. I am reminded to remove the blocks in me to be present, to experience reality, to see him, to see myself, to receive his love and to give mine freely, to create a space for our story to breathe.
I am giving my friend the gift of presence – the love language I know by heart. I trust that he feels my love.
Do you have a friend that pulls you closer to your own heart? If not, be one. Give someone the gift of your presence. That’s how I became friends with mine.
