Please
Please
Protect.
Dance.
Hug.
Use your voice.
Trust your gut.
Ask questions.
Lose your balance.
Apologize.
Hold hands.
Close your eyes.
Lay on the grass.
Listen to your breaths.
Please. Please. Please.
Let life amaze.

A Hospital Visit
I zipped my tired body into your baggy sweats.
They are taking my blood today.

I was told that there is some trouble
finding a large visible vein
on my exposed skin.
While they tried to tie the tourniquet the 8th time,
I wanted to tell them our old routine.

Just for a day,
Will you let me break in?
Let me take your place,
And you carry my pain.

Unfair –
When did the skyline get this pretty
In between?

Person from the past
We met in high school.
My world was simple: books, music and dance.
His world was simpler: money and me.
He was fascinated by the rich colors I experienced, and my legs.
I was actively trying to feel less, and avoiding stupid boys.

This one was brought up winning.
‘No’ was not a sound he’d heard
since anything can be bought.

He tried to read my books and was too thick for them.
He ignored my nonparticipation and insisted that,
sooner or later,
my love for him would blossom.

Now, this boy runs a small empire.
He has been given a life where he has control over his schedule, his wife, and his kids.
And he wants to die.

Will this boy have the courage to excavate himself
from the perfect prison he’s been in and
dare to fashion a life of his own?

I hope,
sooner or later,
the solemn beauty of freedom
will open its arms to him.
And the boy will finally
Know wisdom.

Untitled – 1
In your left ear
the autumn zephyr whispers
soporific songs from the Gods
a gentle stir
suddenly
your heart changes and
your feet takes on a new path

In Love with Words
I’m in love
with your words
vibrating in my chest
your chest, could I
bury my draw of magic
in your thigh. Your shoulders
wide, like the horizon I just
kissed. Kissed. And forget
do not. Your words dance
on my back. Grab my neck
do not, let a word out of
me. No. I want all of your
words contained in my
throat. Inhale. Exhale.
Mine is yours. Are you ready
to kiss me?

Now, your turn, any thoughts? I care to know.
